TreeLabs Consulting helps construction and infrastructure firms run a Cyber Risk Assessment, secure subcontractor and supplier access, and build ISO 27001-aligned security that clients can trust.

Real Incident
Cyber Risks for Infrastructure Projects
April 2026 – Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co (Singapore). The contractor for three Jurong Region Line stations and Changi NEWater Factory 3 reported a cybersecurity incident that compromised project-related data. LTA reported the matter to the police and temporarily suspended the contractor’s access to its digital systems. PUB said the contractor had no access to its systems and that the exposed data was limited to tender documents already public on GeBIZ. The timing of the breach was unclear, and LTA said construction of the line was not affected. Source: April 2026; The Straits Times.
Business Pain

For a contractor, a cyber incident is not just an IT problem. It lands on your projects, your clients and your reputation:
- DATA EXPOSURE. Project, tender and financial data can be exposed or stolen.
- LOSS OF SYSTEM ACCESS. A cyberattack can cut access to systems, disrupting tenders, submissions and project coordination.
- RECOVERY COSTS. Forensics, legal support, notifications and system recovery can quickly become costly.
- CLIENT TRUST RISK. Clients expect contractors to protect the data and systems they share.
- COMPLIANCE RISK. Personal data breaches can lead to significant PDPA penalties and regulatory action.
- SUBCONTRACTOR CYBERSECURITY RISK. Weak security at subcontractors or suppliers can expose your entire project.
What your company should do

- ASSESS SUBCONTRACTOR CYBERSECURITY RISK ASSESSMENT. Check third-party security before granting system or data access.
- MAINTAIN INCIDENT- RESPONSE PROCEDURES. Know what to do, who to contact and how to respond to an attack.
- TEST BACKUP AND RECOVERY TRAINING. Learn how to protect project data from cyber attacks and keep critical data recoverable.
- STRENGTHEN THIRD PARTY CYBERSECURITY REQUIREMENTS. Define security expectations, access requirements, incident reporting and responsibilities for subcontractors and suppliers.
